Overview

If you remove cash directly from your cash drawer for small purchases our Petty Cash functionality allows you to record the transaction. This allows the system to account for any deductions during the reconciliation process.

Petty Cash Categories

Each transaction must be logged against a petty cash category. This allows you to report on which areas you are spending your petty cash.

Creating a Petty Cash Category

  1. Navigate to: Settings -> Configuration -> Reporting.
  2. Go to the "Petty Cash Categories" section.
  3. Click the "+ Add new" button at the bottom of the list.
  4. Enter the name for your new Petty Cash Category.
  5. Click the "Save..." button.

Editing a Petty Cash Category

  1. Navigate to: Settings -> Configuration -> Reporting.
  2. Go to the "Petty Cash Categories" section.
  3. Click on the edit icon next to the category you wish to rename.
  4. Enter the new name for your new Petty Cash Category.
  5. Press the "Save..." button.

Deleting a Petty Cash Category

  1. Navigate to: Settings -> Configuration -> Reporting.
  2. Navigate to the "Petty Cash Categories" section.
  3. Click on the delete icon next to the relevant category.
  4. When prompted, click "Yes" in the deletion confirmation dialogue.

Creating a Petty Cash Transaction

You can log your petty cash transactions on our iOS Application by:
  1. Sign on as a user with register manager access.
  2. Tap the main menu button in the top right of the sales screen.
  3. Tap the "Petty Cash" button.
  4. Tap the + button in the top right of the screen.
  5. Enter the transaction amount and select the relevant category.
  6. Tap the "Create Transaction" button.
You have now successfully recorded the petty cash transaction. The actual cash figure in the reconciliation process will account for this transaction.

Reporting

  • You can view individual petty cash transactions by using the "Petty Cash Payments" report.
  • The "Management Report" shows the transactions grouped by category.
